MEET LISA

Flower_9-03.png

Hi there! My name is Lisa and I am the artist behind Lisa Ortiz Photography. I am an on location photographer based in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

In 2007 I graduated from NMSU with a degree in Digital Graphics Technology. Soon after, I quickly realized I was itching for something more. Photography was always a hobby of mine, however I never imagined it would become my dream come true. My husband plays a huge role in my life as he is my number one supporter. He purchased my first DSLR camera back in 2010 and really pushed me to chase my dream of one day owning my own business. A year later, in August of 2011 I launched Lisa’s Design Studio. I offered photography and graphic design services. It has been an amazing journey! I have photographed thousands of sessions, met so many people, and built the best friendships.

Fast forward to Mid 2019, I decided to re brand my already established business with the name, Lisa Ortiz Photography. Since photography is what I am truly passionate about, it made perfect sense to drop the word design and studio and go with a fresh, new look!

I am a mom to two amazing kiddos. A daughter and son. We have a zoo of animals. Five dogs and three cats. I am laid back and enjoy the little things in life. I am an adventurer and love all things travel related. We only get one life and each day needs to be lived to the fullest. I live to create memories! I love camping, road trips, and anything that means I get to pack a suitcase! In my free time, I love Binge watching. My favorite restaurant is Chick-fil-A... because, well, Polynesian sauce is life.  I also love all things milk chocolate, and Amazon Prime!  Aside from photography, I am a Realtor. I have been in the Real Estate field doing many different things for 15 years. It’s what you would call my “day” job and I love it!

Fun fact. I am half German and have dual citizenship. I was born there, lived much of my younger life there, and even graduated high school there. I absolutely love Europe, and a lot of my family still lives there. I am fluent, and although I sound like a tourist when I speak the language, I understand just about everything. A piece of my heart will always be in Germany. I have made it a goal to go back every chance I get.

I love New Mexico and our amazing sunsets. It took me a long time to love and appreciate the desert. And while I do travel and see other places, Las Cruces is definitely home.

Take a look through my portfolio to get a better feel of my work. Stop on by my Facebook and Instagram page and show some love there as well. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask!

Hugs – Lisa
