MEET LISA
Hi there! My name is Lisa and I am the artist behind Lisa Ortiz Photography. I am an on-location photographer based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I specialize in natural, emotive photography that captures real moments. I believe in creating a relaxed and fun experience that helps people feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
In 2007 I graduated from NMSU with a degree in Digital Graphics Technology. My husband plays a huge role in my life as he is my number one supporter. He purchased my first DSLR camera back in 2010 and really pushed me to chase my dream of owning my own photography business. A year later, in August of 2011, I launched Lisa’s Design Studio. I offered photography and graphic design services.
Fast forward to mid-2019, I decided to rebrand my already established business with the name Lisa Ortiz Photography. Since photography is what I am truly passionate about, it made perfect sense to drop the word design and studio and go with a fresh new look focusing on photography services.
I am a mom to two amazing kiddos, a daughter and a son. I am a huge animal lover and have five dogs and one cat. I am an adventurer and love traveling the world. Aside from photography, I am also a Realtor and have been in the real estate field for over 15 years.
Fun fact: I am half German and have dual citizenship. I was born there, lived much of my younger life there, and even graduated high school there. I absolutely love Europe and a lot of my family still lives there. I am fluent, and although I sound like a tourist when I speak the language, I understand just about everything.
I love New Mexico and our amazing sunsets. It took me a long time to love and appreciate the desert. While I enjoy seeing new places, Las Cruces is definitely home.
Take a look through my portfolio to get a better feel for my work. Visit my Facebook and Instagram pages and say hello there too. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out. Whether you're planning a milestone session or just want to capture a moment in time, I’d love to work with you.
Hugs,
Lisa
